Unless expressly stated otherwise, Joinalyse acts solely as a platform provider. Joinalyse does not become a party to any study, does not sponsor or endorse any study, and does not guarantee the legality, scientific quality, ethics approval status, validity, completion rate, or outcomes of any study published on the Platform.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an Account, accessing, or using the Platform, the User agrees to be bound by these Terms and by any policies incorporated by reference, including the Privacy Notice and the Researcher Study Rules / Research Policy. If the User does not agree to these Terms, the User must not access or use the Platform.

4. Eligibility and Registration

The Platform may only be used by persons who are legally capable of entering into binding agreements under applicable law. The User must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and throughout the use of the Platform. Joinalyse may require identity verification, institutional verification, document review, manual checks, or other reasonable onboarding steps before granting access to some or all Platform functions. The User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials and for all activities occurring under the User’s Account.

5. Verified Institutional Access

Joinalyse may restrict certain functionalities to Users verified through an eligible Institution. Verification may be based on institutional email domains, supporting documents, manual review, or any other method reasonably determined by Joinalyse. Verification confirms only that a specified verification step has been completed. It does not constitute endorsement, accreditation, ethics approval, academic supervision, or scientific validation.

6. Nature of the Platform Services

The Platform may enable Users to create and publish studies, connect with eligible participants, access learning materials, use filters and matching tools, and manage research-related activities. Any matching, recommendation, ranking, or discovery functions offered by Joinalyse are provided for convenience only. Joinalyse does not guarantee that any study will attract participants or that any participant will be suitable for a given study.

At the current stage of Platform development, Joinalyse does not charge researchers, students, lecturers, or individual users merely to access or use the core Platform unless expressly stated otherwise.

Joinalyse may introduce paid services in the future, including institutional subscriptions, enterprise access, premium features, or other commercial arrangements. Any such services shall be governed by separate commercial terms, fee schedules, or institutional agreements.

8. User Obligations

Users shall use the Platform lawfully, responsibly, and in accordance with good faith, applicable law, institutional rules, and these Terms. Users shall not impersonate any person or Institution, create misleading profiles, misuse verification, interfere with Platform security, scrape or harvest data without permission, upload malicious code, or use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.

9. Studies and Research Activities

Each Researcher remains solely responsible for any study made available through the Platform, including study design, content, methodology, participant eligibility criteria, ethical compliance, consent materials, privacy notices, data processing, and participant communications. Joinalyse may review, suspend, reject, or remove any study where Joinalyse reasonably believes that the study creates legal, ethical, operational, reputtional, or security risks.

10. Learning Hub and Educational Content

The Platform may contain articles, templates, guides, sample forms, methodological notes, presentation guidance, and other educational materials. Such materials are provided for general informational and educational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice, statistics advice, ethics committee advice, academic supervision, or any guarantee of suitability for a specific research purpose.

By uploading, publishing, or submitting Content to the Platform, the User grants Joinalyse a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, format, display, distribute, and otherwise use such Content to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and promote the Platform. The User warrants that the User has all rights necessary to upload and use the Content and that the Content does not infringe any applicable law or third-party rights.

12. Data Protection and Privacy

Joinalyse shall process personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice and applicable data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation where applicable. Researchers are separately responsible for any personal data they collect or process in connection with their own studies and must provide participants with appropriate privacy information and lawful processing grounds where required.

13. Third-Party Services

The Platform may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party tools or websites, including external survey platforms, scheduling tools, form services, document services, analytics tools, or communication tools. 16. Suspension and Termination

Joinalyse may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Platform, remove studies or Content, revoke verification, or take any other appropriate action where Joinalyse reasonably considers that a User has breached these Terms or that continued access creates a legal, ethical, operational, or security risk. The User may stop using the Platform at any time. Joinalyse may retain certain records where required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

17. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an as is and as available basis. Joinalyse disclaims all warranties, representations, and conditions not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or suitability for a particular academic or research objective.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joinalyse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of research value, loss of funding opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of opportunity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Joinalyse arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of EUR 100 or the amount paid by the relevant User to Joinalyse in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

19. Indemnity

The User shall indemnify and hold harmless Joinalyse, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and contractors from and against claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses arising out of or in connection with the User’s studies, Content, misuse of the Platform, breach of these Terms, or violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

20. Confidentiality

Where either party receives non-public confidential information from the other in connection with the
Platform, that party shall keep such information confidential and use it only for the purpose for which it
was disclosed, except where disclosure is required by law or the information enters the public domain
without breach of confidence.

21. Amendments

Joinalyse may amend these Terms from time to time. Updated versions shall become effective on the date specified by Joinalyse. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Netherlands, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

23. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. No failure or delay by Joinalyse in enforcing any provision shall constitute a waiver of that provision. The User may not assign or transfer rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent from Joinalyse. Joinalyse may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the Platform.
